Things went well tonight. Adam Meyers, Bjorn Andersen, and John Gossam, all former Troop 4090 scouts, two of whom are Eagles, showed up for our meeting, and to finish up our boards of Review. they gave some excellent insight to our boys regarding merit badges to attain at camp, and agreed to register for merit badge counselor positions to help our boys advance this summer.
Thanks to all of you who attended, we also planned a Camp Bogardus clean-up on May 5th, from 5:00pm till 8:30pm, and a campout, which I will post details on tomorrow.
Thanks for all your help!

Deception Pass trip cancelled...
My apologies to those who were planning on going on this weekends trip to Deception Pass State Park. Unfortunately, I am going to the doctor today to find out if I have bronchitis, or walking pneumonia... As the tour leader, that leaves me with very few options.
my apologies,
Michael J. Perren

Work party / Service Project at Deception Pass State Park
As per the boys request, we will be attending a day long clean-up project at Deception Pass State Park.
"Lions have a service project/work party scheduled for Saturday, 25 April 09, at Deception Pass State Park. It starts at 10 AM and is expected to run until about 4 PM. The Lions will be helping the park rangers clean up the park. The 5 Lions Clubs on Whidbey, plus those from the San Juans, Anacortes, etc are expected to help with this project. Coupeville Lions Club (Charter Organization of Troop 58) is the host. The Lions have requested Boy Scout Troops participate."
We will be meeting at 7:30am at the the ferry terminal, catching the 8:05am boat on Saturday April 25th, and returning on (hopefully!!) the 5:05pm boat (arriving at 6:25) If we miss that boat (which is a possibility with travel times and people trying to get onto the island) then we will catch the 6:00pm boat, arriving at 7:40pm.
The guys will need to bring a sack lunch, and some cash for a quick dinner out. They will also need work gloves, and any yard tools they can bring (rakes, shovels, clippers, loppers, etc...)
Permission slips will be available on the website, and at our Tuesday night meeting.
